Making Documents Available Prior to Board Meetings

On October 19, 2021, Governor Hochul signed into law an amendment to the Open Meetings Law (Ch. 481 of the Laws of 2021) to require that any agency record available to the public pursuant to the Freedom of Information Law, as well as any proposed resolution, law, rule, regulation, policy or amendment thereto, that is scheduled to be the subject of discussion by a public body during an open meeting, be made available to the public, via public posting to the agency's website and upon request, to the extent practicable, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting during which such record or proposed resolution, law, rule, regulation, policy or amendment will be discussed.
